Summer Classes 2009
Back by popular demand, we are offering Summer Classes. These are open to the public and for students age PK-6th. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and run from June 16 through August 6 (8 weeks). The dance, theater and music classes will have a performance at the end of the summer term. -There must be at least 6 students in each class in order to hold the class. Times may change based on enrollment. Descriptions and prices are listed below. Also available are private tutoring in Math, Reading, voice & piano. Class Descriptions:
Children’s Musical Theater: $70 (2x week) We will explore the many stages of the world of theater together. Your child will gain musical experience, develop theater skills and discover the tools of acting as we learn together. Performers will participate in character building activities as we prepare a polished performance. +$15 supply Fee
Children’s Dance: $35 Students will learn about the world of dance as we explore a variety of different dance styles. Students will be introduced to lyrical, hip hop and folk styles as they learn and work together. We will refine dance technique as we prepare for a final performance. +$15 supply Fee
Ballroom Dance: $35 Students will be introduced to cha cha, swing and waltz ballroom dance styles as we learn together. They will develop basic dance skills and technique as we explore the world of ballroom dance together.+$15 supply Fee
Music & Choir: $35 We will learn together as students develop basic vocal skills, learn music theory, and prepare music to perform. Students will be introduced to a variety of music styles including Broadway, Classical and Folk genres. +$15 supply Fee
Arts & Crafts: $35 Students will learn how to create works of art to be displayed in the home. Items will range from Kleenex boxes, shower curtains, prayers/welcome rugs, plaques and more. +Supplies
Science: $35 Students will learn different laws of physical science through experiments. They will do different experiments to see the laws in action. From their findings they will discover their own definition to the laws of nature and reasons to why they exist. +Supplies
Exploratory Math: $35 Students will learn new and old math concepts through a hands-based method. They will be posed with a problem and given an opportunity to discover the answer through manipulatives. They will also grow to love and understand word problems. As they find new ways to solve the problem, they will share their ideas with each other. This will allow them to not only learn, but retain that knowledge by teaching it to their peers. +Supplies
Pioneer Living: $35 Using the Laura Ingalls Wilder Series, students will discover how life was back in the 1800’s. They will experience the things they read and hear about in the book. We will also use different books based in that time to understand how our lives compare to those in that time period. +Supplies
