Character Development
Character and Leadership
In conjunction with their parents, we develop our students’ character and leadership skills on a daily basis and we emphasize:
- Your character is defined by what you do, not just what you say or believe.
- Every choice you make helps define the kind of person you are choosing to be.
- Good character requires doing the right thing, always.
- What you do matters, and one person can make a big difference.
The consequence of good character is that it makes you a better person and it makes the world a better place. We really mean it when we repeat our student motto each day:
We are learning to reason from Christian principles
And to act honorably as we grow in character,
Soaring to great heights of achievement,
Following in the footsteps of true heroes,
We are preparing to be future leaders for our God,
Our families and our country-
This is our pursuit.
This generation of students will be tomorrow's leaders. Drawing from such texts as Sean Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, lessons are taught on humility and true self-esteem, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, the power of righteous influence, and achieving goals by planning the work and working the plan. Etiquette, public speaking, money management, being part of a team, conflict resolution, and decision making are also taught. Defending religious beliefs and the constitution, understanding current events and our political system, prioritizing, fact finding and analysis, community involvement, work ethic, service, and entrepreneurship are discussed. We study the leadership characteristics of Jesus Christ, prophets, American presidents, and other inspired leaders.

Great Students/Great Families
American Legacy Academy provides a unique concept in education. It is our belief that true success for a student can only occur when the school, the student and the family are working together towards common goals.
Families who send their students to American Legacy Academy are unique. They are committed to not only providing their child with the finest academic education, but also to ensuring that their child receives the modeling, the guidance and the opportunity to become an individual of great character.
Ours are families, who are naturally kind and good people. You can count on being a part of a true community that cares for each other and does great things in this world.
Great Educators/Great People
Each of us can recall either positively or negatively at least on teacher whose influence left an indelible mark on our spirit! Therefore, we not only hire great educators. We hire great people! There are many skilled instructors available to us. However, your child will spend over 1,000 hours with their teacher over the course of a single school year.
We are committed to hiring teachers who are brilliant, enthusiastic, creative and who possess and can model great character and spirituality; teachers in the highest sense of the word who not only model, but nurture, and inspire their students to produce in them a true love of learning and a willingness to put forth their best efforts while developing scholars with character of integrity.
